Netflix has teased news about Wednesday season two is coming soon

Fans could finally get the update they've been patiently waiting for.

Netflix has teased news about season two of Wednesday could be coming very soon.

The streaming service has posted a video showing Jenna Ortega's legendary character Wednesday Addams sitting at her typewriter.

She spent a lot of her time there during the first instalment of the hit TV show as she was keen on writing her novel.

As she's typing away in this new video, the camera pans overhead and you see her type 'The End'.

The shot hovers for what seems like a lifetime before a question mark is whacked on the end of it.

This seemingly indicates the story told in season one isn't over and we could be back at Nevermore Academy before we know it.

It would make sense for another season to be in the works considering it's the second biggest English-language show Netflix has ever had.

The streaming service would be mad to not milk this cow for all its worth.

Jenna Ortega is hoping the second season will really up the ante on her character and allow her to dive deeper into her goth roots.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight last year, she said she wanted to see Wednesday Addams reach her full potential.

"I kind of want her to be darker," she explained.

"I want her to get more in the nitty-gritty of things and not play things so safe, because there are a lot of lines about her saving the school and doing whatever, but for me, her main drive with the monster is of a competitiveness.

"Kind of, 'Man, how's this guy doing this?'

"I think I want it to continue down an antihero stream rather than a typical hero."

But we could be shown something completely different to what we saw in the first instalment.

Wednesday co-showrunner Miles Millar admits the show focused a lot on Wednesday Addams (which is obvious because that's what the show is named after) but they would love to see what else can be fleshed out if they go a little deeper into the family lore.

“We felt like we just touched the surface with those characters and the actors are so amazing in those roles,” Millar explained to TV Line.

Ortega was joined on screen by Catherine Zeta-Jones, who played chic matriarch Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán portrayed the legendary Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez was cast as Pugsley Addams, and Fred Armisen was Uncle Fester.

Millar said these actors brilliantly rebooted the classic characters and it would be interesting to see where they could go.

“Catherine is, I think, an iconic Morticia," he said to TV Line.

"The relationship between Wednesday and Morticia is also essential to the show, and the idea that Wednesday is trying to forge her own path outside the family is important.”

He added: "[I] definitely want to feature the family as we did this season in a couple of episodes if we were to get a second season."
