Lewis Capaldi has responded to his keyboard player telling the camera to f*** off at NTAs

Viewers spotted the musician making the crude comment during a live performance

Lewis Capaldi has responded after his keyboard player could be seen telling the camera to 'f*ck off' during the singer's performance at the National Television Awards.

I'll be the first to admit that Capaldi himself isn't the most mild-mannered celebrity out there, but there's a time and a place for crudeness, and some people have argued that during a live performance at an event celebrating some of British television's best and brightest isn't it.

I should point out, though, it was at least after the watershed.

It wasn't actually Capaldi who riled some viewers up when he took to the stage to perform his hit track 'Forget Me', but a member of the band he was performing with.

As the track was broadcast live across the nation on ITV, Capaldi's keyboard player could be seen swearing at the camera, seemingly wanting to just be left alone to play his tunes.

The scene was caught by viewers and prompted a mixed reaction, with some who couldn't care less about the situation while others were not impressed.

One viewer who falls into the latter category commented: "Lewis Capaldi's Keyboard player just Mouthed F*£k off at the camera man!! What an unprofessional little turd #NationalTelevisionAwards."

It seems Capaldi has had chance to get caught up on social media after leaving the stage, as he responded to this particular Twitter user to assure them he would handle the situation.

"I agree Pete, totally unacceptable, will be having words," he wrote. "Thanks for bringing it to my attention."

Only time will tell whether Capaldi really will have 'words' with the musician, or exactly what those words will be, but I have a feeling the singer won't have been too put out by the actions of his keyboard player.

Fans appeared to take his side as they responded to Capaldi's tweet, with one person writing: "Omg someone said f*ck off!! That’s so disgusting and disrespectful. Ugh thank you for doing something about it Lewis. Can’t have ppl like that. *please note the sarcasm*."

Though it wasn't Capaldi causing offence this time, the singer has recently had to apologise for a comment he himself has made on television.

The singer appeared on Lorraine last month to promote his new single, where he found himself offering the presenter 'seven inches of me'

He quickly apologised for the innuendo, saying: "There you go, my seven inch... record. Sorry."

As I said, at least the inappropriateness was limited to after 9:00pm this time.
