Leonardo DiCaprio gets called out for only dating women under 25

An Australian columnist has unleashed on the Oscar-winning actor over his penchant for young women after he split with Camila Morrone.

An Australian columnist has unleashed on Leonardo DiCaprio and his penchant for dating young women.

Mary Madigan put pen to paper after The Great Gatsby actor's latest break-up with girlfriend Camilla Morrone happened a few months after she turned 25.

You see, women who date DiCaprio seem to have an expiry date.

According to a viral graph made by someone on Reddit with too much time on their hands, DiCaprio's magic number to dump women is 25.

For the record, the Romeo + Juliet star is 47, so now women have to be younger than half his age if they wish to court him.

On that note, Romeo + Juliet came out 26 years ago. So his girlfriends need to be even younger than his own film.

Madigan noted how his dating habits are such common knowledge that some women take to social media 'on their 25th birthday that they are now too old to date Leo'.

"Funny, yes! But also, kind of depressing to associate 25 with being too old to date a movie star who is decades older than you," she wrote for news.com.au.

His relationships have a very strong pattern. They're all models and - occasionally - actresses.

"They are always in their early 20s, and the relationship always seems to end once they turn 25," Madigan pointed out.

Morrone, DiCaprio’s latest dating collateral, survived just beyond her 25th birthday. But she didn't make it to 26.

Madigan went on to allege that DiCaprio's type appears to be women who are 'more vulnerable and less powerful', adding that this behaviour is 'a red flag'.

Despite the avalanche of social media jokes before and after Morrone's birthday, Madigan argued that DiCaprio's behavioural patterns is something that shouldn't be joked about.

"It normalises a culture where wealthy, powerful men pursue relationships with women less powerful than themselves, emotionally and financially," she said, as per news.com.au.

"Women who have yet to find their place in the world and can be vulnerable to the men who prey on them."

But she didn't stop there.

The Sydney-based freelance writer unleashed, drawing a relatable comparison for her readers.

"Think about how you’d feel if a man within your social circle was only dating women in their early 20s ... chances are you’d be inclined to think the guy was a creep," she wrote for news.com.au.

She finished with her coup de grâce: "Men who only want to date younger women are often seeking power and control.

"They don’t want to date an equal partner and veer away from dating someone of similar age or status."
