JK Rowling responds as Harry Potter is arrested for crack possession

JK Rowling has hinted at a much darker and more sinister ending for Harry Potter, after responding to reports Harry Potter has been arrested for crack cocaine possession.

The Harry Potter tale that we know obviously follows a young Harry finding out he is a wizard, before entering a magical universe where he attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

And, as anyone who has read all the books or watched all the films will know, the tale ends with Harry graduating from Hogwarts, getting married, becoming a father and getting a great job. But who knows how different things could have been?

Rowling herself jokingly nodded towards a more sinister outcome for the wizard, after a Twitter user shared a mugshot of a man who had been arrested for drug possession, who happened to be called none other than Harry Potter.

The mugshot was shared on Twitter.

The mugshot was shared alongside the caption, "I have questions," and Rowling was quick to respond to the post herself.

The author, who famously penned the magical novels, suggested bearing the weight of being 'the chosen one' could have resulted in the infamous wizard taking a very different turn.

She wrote: "Never said it was easy being the chosen one."

Of course, it's all just a bit of a laugh, but we can't be the only ones thinking this would've made for a much more interesting ending to the franchise.

Luckily it seemed like lots of other Harry Potter fans were in agreement, with one jokingly replying: "Harry Potter and Five Years for Possession."

JK Rowling joked in response.

Another fan added: "Now we have a story for a third day of the Cursed Child," while a third wrote: "Child actors always have problems."

Meanwhile, others suggested Netflix might be interested in taking on an alternative version of the family-friendly franchise - but in the meantime, all eight films have recently been added to the streaming service and all currently sit in the top 10 trending films in the UK.

Safe to say there is no drug possession involved, though.

And, if you fancy spending your Bank Holiday weekend binge-watching every film from start to finish, you might want to get started now, as it'll take you 19 hours and 39 minutes to get through all eight movies without a break.

It has to be done, really, doesn't it?
