Inbetweeners Star Simon Bird Debuts New Look For Upcoming Comedy

The 37-year-old is totally unrecognisable as he dons a brand-new hairdo.

British actor Simon Bird is best-known for playing the role of schoolboy Will McKenzie in the hit E4 comedy series The Inbetweeners.

The 37-year-old also played the character of Adam Goodman in the Channel 4 comedy series Friday Night Dinner which aired for nearly a decade from 2011 to 2020.

However, the Simon Bird we're all seemingly used to has recently debuted a huge hair makeover and is now nearly entirely unrecognisable.

The Inbetweeners star has been seen sporting a bowl cut for a new Channel 4 comedy.

In recent pictures on the set of an upcoming comedy, Bird can be seen donning a very severe-looking bowl cut wig with a grey and beige suit.

Pictures were snapped while he actor was on set filming material for a brand-new Channel 4 show titled Everyone Else Burns, which is based in Cheshire and is set to air later on this year.

Channel 4 have released a press statement for the new six-part comedy series, saying: "Everyone Else Burns explores life in a hyper-religious community and asks: how does an idiosyncratic family navigating modern day life protect themselves from eternal hell fire?"

Written by Dillon Mapletoft and Oliver Taylor, the new series boasts 'an exciting ensemble cast', including Al Roberts (Stath Lets Flats), Lloyd Griffith (It’s a Sin) and Kadiff Kirwan (I May Destroy You) just to name a few.

Beatrice Springborn, President of Universal International Studios, recently issued a statement: “Everyone Else Burns is an irreverent, hilarious and heart-warming series from the brilliant creative minds of Dillon and Oliver.

Channel 4 have dubbed the series: "A coming-of-age comedy about a Mancunian family and the puritanical Christian sect they are devoted to."

The plot follows Simon Bird, who plays the role of patriarchal David Lewis, and his family as they journey through their relationship with godliness and damnation.

"Everyone Else Burns is a subversive, authentic and bitingly funny exploration into what it feels like to balance faith, family and identity in a world that could end tomorrow (but probably won't)," Channel 4 added.

While Simon Bird will forever be linked to the awkward and embarrassing teenager, Will McKenzie, which he played alongside co-stars Joe Thomas, Blake Harrison and James Buckley, this new hairdo proves his chameleon abilities.

Dozens have since weighed in on Bird's new look.

One Facebook user commented, "He looks like one of the mushrooms from Super Mario."

"That is the worst hair cut I have ever seen, worth watching just to see that," wrote another.

A third was shocked with the actor's new appearance saying, "Blimey I did not recognise him!"
