I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here is set to return to Australia this year following two years in Wales.

Ant and Dec's beloved reality TV show was forced to relocate to Gwyrch Castle in the UK as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, meaning the celebrities not only had to deal with tough trials packed with creepy crawlies, but also the dreary Welsh November weather.

Those taking on the show this year will be glad to know that cold weather, at least, won't be an issue after Director of Content Rosemary Newell confirmed that the upcoming series will take place Down Under.

Per The Mirror, she said: "We expect a celebrity to return in Australia in November, when it will generate audience over 11 million."

Though fans of the show have undoubtedly enjoyed their dose of UK-based Bushtucker Trials over the last couple of years, many will no doubt welcome the return of the jungle and the giant Australian creatures it holds.

Ant and Dec themselves have previously expressed their hopes to return to Australia, saying on The One Show earlier this year that the jungle was 'the plan' for the upcoming series.

Ant stressed the pair had 'nothing against Wales', while Dec added: "We love Wales but you know, Australia is its home and we’d like to get back there if we can."

Co-host Rylan Clark joked that the pair were looking 'looking forward to the holiday' as much as getting back to the show, with Ant admitting 'you get a much better tan in New South Wales than you do in Wales at that time of year'.

I'm a Celebrity first kicked off in 2002, at which point it was filmed within Tully, Queensland. It then moved to Murwillumbah, New South Wales, where it remained until the coronavirus outbreak hindered the opportunity to travel to and film the show in Australia.

In order to allow the show to go ahead in Wales, campmates including Jordan North, Russell Watson, Victoria Derbyshire and Vernon Kay were required to self-isolate prior to filming and remain strictly in their bubble to prevent the spread of the virus.

During the last series, contestant Richard Madeley was forced to pull out of the show after having to visit the hospital mid-way through, meaning he had broken the bubble by having contact with people outside the camp. It is currently unclear who will take part in the upcoming series, but I'm sure Ant and Dec will ensure the show returns to Australia with a bang.
