I'm A Celebrity fans left cringing as Matt Hancock sings Ed Sheeran song

Ed Sheeran did not ask for this.

I'm A Celebrity viewers are already getting an earful from Matt Hancock after he officially joined his campmates in the jungle this week.

And the former Health Secretary had people cringing beyond belief on Wednesday when he wistfully sang a few lines from Ed Sheeran's song 'Perfect'.

Prepare yourself:

Matt was chatting to his fellow bombshell campmate Seann Walsh on Wednesday (9 November) night's episode, when the comedian asked him what sort of music he was into.

The West Suffolk MP replied that he was into 'mainstream music', but not so much that he would consider getting a tattoo of Sheeran on his neck.

"You like Ed Sheeran? I love Ed Sheeran!" said Walsh.

"Yeah, and I'm from Suffolk as well", added Hancock, in the most underwhelming humble brag you've ever seen.

Walsh then prompted the most bizarre TV moment of the year when he managed to get Hancock singing, telling him: "I love that erm... Dancer in the Dark?", struggling to remember the name of Ed's hit single 'Perfect'.

Simultaneously sending thousands of viewers across the UK into hysterics, Matt began singing: "You between my arms, bare foot on the grass - Don’t get me singing - Listening to my favourite song.

"What’s it called? Perfect? I love it."

Matt begged Seann not to make him sing, and then proceeded to sing.

As you can only imagine, viewers at home had an absolutely field day with this one and took to Twitter to discuss the insanity they had just witnessed.

"Someone needs to send Ed an email about this", wrote one concerned fan.

"If I was Ed Sheeran and heard Matt Hancock was a fan I’d retire from music," tweeted another.

"Matt Hancock just killed Ed Sheeran’s career dead in 30 seconds", worried a third.

Later in their conversation, Walsh warned Hancock that the other campmates might not be too happy about him joining them later on - and he was spot on.

Campmate Boy George admitted it was 'difficult' to be sharing a space with Hancock, after his mother was in hospital during the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Charlene White asked Hancock if he could understand why people were 'not very happy' with him being there while Parliament is sitting.

Unsurprisingly, Hancock has been voted by the public to do the next bushtucker trial, which will air on Thursday night. And it's likely to be the first of many...
