'How long do short people live' trend takes over TikTok

'How long do short people live' trend takes over TikTok

Every day a new TikTok trend takes over, and this one is asking how long short people live for.

Are you a short person? Maybe someone you love hasn't been blessed with the gift of height.

For whatever reason, the latest social media trend has seen people asking the internet to find out how long short people live for.

Before you start panicking that your days are numbered, it turns out it's just the joy of TikTok, where weird and wonderful trends gain traction.

How long do short people live for?

The internet has given us all of the information we could ever need at our fingertips, and instead the human race is Googling how long our 5'2" mate will live for.

The latest trend to go viral on TikTok involves telling people to search the question "how long do short people live?"

The trend started off when someone posed the question: "how long do idiots live?"

Long enough to start asking questions about short people, it seems.

If you're curious, head over to your nearest search engine and ask this burning question.

Oddly, people keep receiving different answers.

If you're on the shorter side, Google has it in for you, giving a prognosis that fluctuates wildly from 12 to 15 or 10 to 13 years.

Of course, people are now tormenting the smaller members of their friendship group with the answers and are sharing the results on TikTok.

As is the way with trends, the latest version involves sending a text to your shorter friend, simply saying “I’ll never forget you”.

The implication is that they'll die soon, due to the Google lifespan estimated.

To add insult to injury, the video is then set to Never Forget You by Zara Larsson and MNEK.

One of the most popular video has clocked up a huge 4.7 million views.

People have been sharing screen recordings of the reaction of their shorter friends, and many haven't taken it well.

Jokes include "You're short on time", and "I think I just ruined our friendship."
