Dwayne Johnson’s sitcom has been cancelled after only three seasons.
The Ballers star, former wrestler and fitness legend ventured into the world of TV comedy once again with a series about his early years and the future.
In case you haven’t had a chance to watch the show, the 51-year-old produced Young Rock alongside Fresh Off the Boat creator Nahnatchka Khan and Jeff Chiang.
The show was based around a frame story set in the early 2030s at the beginning of Johnson’s presidency campaign in the 2032 United States presidential election.

Each episode sees Johnson participating in an interview or conversation which leads him to to have a flashback about a moment from one of three periods in his life: A ten-year-old in Hawaii, a high school student in Pennsylvania and as a college football player at the University of Miami.
Young Rock debuted in February 2021 and returned for a holiday special as well as a second and third season, which wrapped up in February 2023.
Unfortunately, the third season saw a dip in ratings compared to the previous season, it managed to attract about 1.4M viewers and a 0.25 demo rating in the 18-49 demographic, according to live + same-day Nielsen data, per Deadline.

This was compared to season two, which drew a much higher average of 2.23M viewers and a 0.39 rating.
Season one had higher ratings than both of the follow-up seasons, averaging over 3M viewers per episode and a 0.62 demo rating.
The cancellation means that viewers will no longer get to see Johnson on their screens during primetime each week and fans have been left heartbroken over the news.
One Twitter user shared: “Sooooo Young Rock got cancelled huh. Imagine ending your last season on a cliff hanger just to get it cancelled. I’m lowkey sad by this too! I just finished the goddamn season!”

Another former viewer tweeted: “I stopped watching after season 1 but I’m very sad Young Rock is cancelled.”
A third fan praised the show, writing: “I’m honestly so sad that young rock got cancelled. One of the best casted shows and overall well written. Going to miss it.”
Although Young Rock is no more and the possibility of another Black Adam being very unlikely, Johnson still has a huge list of projects, including Fast X: Part 2 and Jungle Cruise 2.
The man is always booked and busy.
