Tommy Fury vs KSI fight result officially changed after scorecard error

Tommy Fury vs KSI fight result officially changed after scorecard error

One of the judges put in the wrong final tally when adding up all the scores.

The official result from the Tommy Fury vs KSI fight has been changed after there was a scorecard error.

The two British stars battled it out in front of a sold out Manchester AO Arena over the weekend.

Fury was eventually declared the winner in a closely fought bout and KSI wasn't happy with the result in the slightest.

However, confusion erupted when the scorecards were released that showed how the judges assessed the fight.

It appeared that judge Rafael Ramos added up KSI’s score incorrectly and gave him and Fury a 57 each.

The judge scored the YouTuber 10 points a piece in the first two rounds, while awarding him nine points in the next six rounds, bringing the total up to 56, however in the ‘total’ box at the bottom he wrote 57.

The two other judges scored the fight 57 to 56 to Fury, which resulted in the former Love Island star getting a judges’ majority.

According to talkSPORT, the official result has now been updated to reflect the real scores and he won unanimously.

Fury admitted that it was far from his best fight, but he was happy to be crowned the victor.

"Was it my best performance? No absolutely not, but we knew it was going to be a stink fest, because one man didn't want to come to fight," Fury told IFL TV.

"Where I come from in the gyms and stuff, you stand there and have a fight. This guy was hopping up and down the ring and didn't want to engage, it was a scrappy affair.

"That was a horrible fight, I've not even watched it back and I'm not even sure I'm going to want to watch it back, because I was useless in there, but I still got the win."

However, KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, says he will be appealing the result.

"Robbery, it's a robbery bro," he said after the fight.

"How many jabs did he land? And he had a point taken off as well. You weren't landing. Look at your face, look at your eyes. Look at you."

KSI added: "How do I lose a six rounder? Unreal.

"He is the man who is meant to be a pro boxer and he won a majority decision? It's outrageous man. The amount of times he hit me in the back of the head. So many times.

"And the referee only took one point? He kept doing it over and over.

"I'm sorry, it's outrageous.

"We're going to appeal, I want to appeal. I felt like I won that."

Fury responded to the accusations and said: "You're a sore loser. You're a bum. Back to YouTube."
