Dolph Lundgren admitted it felt 'strange' telling daughters about girlfriend who's almost 40 years younger

The Rocky actor has opened up about what it was like telling his daughters about his now-wife who is 40 years his junior

Actor Dolph Lundgren has opened up about what it was like telling his daughters about his now-wife who is 40 years his junior.

The Rocky star, 65, and Emma Krokdal, 25, are believed to have started dating in 2019 after meeting at the gym, before getting engaged in 2020 and tying the knot last week on 13 July, 2023 in Mykonos, Greece.

Despite only knowing each other for four years, Lundgren reflected on the pair's relationship as happening 'very gradually' but this didn't mean it wasn't 'a bit strange' telling his daughters about his new partner.

In an interview with Kjersti Flaa, Lundgren reflected on his relationship with Krokdal as being 'one of the most natural relationships' he's 'ever had'.

"Once I was married for 18 years and I had another relationship for nine years. But this time it happened very organically," he says. "It happened gradually, so it never felt forced - or that we rushed into it."

But while it was a gradual process for both Lundgren and Krokdal, does that mean it was for the actor's daughters - Ida and Greta - too? Finding out their father was dating someone 40 years younger than himself and in-between their ages - Ida 27 and Greta 21?

Lundgren admits when he first met Krokdal he 'realised that it would be a bit strange telling [his] daughters about her'.

He continues: "But they are both very open and emotionally mature and I have always been very open with them about everything. So, I told them."

Lundgren introduced Krokdal to Ida first, noting they 'get along great'.

In the interview, the actor says: "They are happy when I am happy. That's the only thing that matters to them."

Lundgren notes how he's typically surrounded by people a lot younger than he is, whether it's Krokdal and his daughters or people who works with in the film and TV industry.

The actor resolves: "I think it's very inspiring and there is no rule that older people know more than younger people. That they are more intelligent or mature... It doesn't have to be like that. Young people can have a lot to offer.

"They often have less baggage and give you a cleaner energy. Emma has been a gift to me.

"I think my daughters feel the same way too. Everyone is different."
