Barry Keoghan fans spot ‘weird’ coincidence as actor confirms date for next big series

He's set to star in a huge new Apple TV+ series

Barry Keoghan fans have spotted a ’weird’ coincidence as the actor confirms a date for his next big series.

Watch the trailer here:

Keoghan has been living rent-free in everyone’s heads recently after starring in psychological thriller Saltburn - which saw him prancing around a stately home completely butt-naked... among other, equally x-rated antics.

But he’s already moved on to his next big project, which is the long-awaited Masters of the Air a forthcoming American war drama that has been delayed for a while due to Covid.

Also starring the likes of Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle, Nate Mann, Raff Law, Josiah Cross, Branden Cook and Ncuti Gatwa, the TV miniseries is due to premiere on Apple TV+ at the end of this month.

A synopsis for the Band of Brothers sequel says: “Based on Donald L. Miller’s book of the same name, and scripted by John Orloff, ‘Masters of the Air’ follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the ‘Bloody Hundredth’) as they conduct perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen, and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air.

“Portraying the psychological and emotional price paid by these young men as they helped destroy the horror of Hitler’s Third Reich, is at the heart of ‘Masters of the Air’.

“Some were shot down and captured; some were wounded or killed. And some were lucky enough to make it home. Regardless of individual fate, a toll was exacted on them all.”

In the lead-up to its release, Keoghan got the anticipation building as he posted a snap of him in action on Instagram.

While many fans were excited, others were surprised to realise a strange coincidence.

One person commented: “If I had a nickel for every time Barry acted with someone who played Elvis, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but weird it happened twice right.”

Echoing the same sentiment, someone else said: “He’s now filmed with both Elvises.”

The Elvises in question, of course, are Austin Butler and Jacob Elordi, who played the singer in Baz Lurhmann's 2022 biopic and in 2023's Priscilla, respectively.

Others, meanwhile, were just excited to get their next fix of Keoghan.

"I didn’t think I could be anymore excited…" one said.

Another wrote: "Can honestly not wait. I’ve waited for this since like forever."

A third asked: "But will there be a nude dance through a mansion at the end?"

A fair question.
