Celebrity Juice Axed After 14 Years On Air

Celebrity Juice Axed After 14 Years On Air

Presenter Keith Lemon shared news of the show's cancellation on Twitter

The award-winning comedy panel show Celebrity Juice has been cancelled by ITV after 14 years.

Beginning in 2008, the show first featured Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby as team captains while Keith Lemon, whose real name is Leigh Francis, put the presenters and a changing cast of celebrity guests through extravagant games and challenges while also discussing the week’s tabloid news stories.

Cotton decided to leave her role on the show after ten years and was replaced by Paddy McGuinness and later Mel B.

Willoughby left the show two years later, and most recently the show has had The Inbetweeners' star Emily Atack and Love Island host Laura Whitmore in position as team captains, with Maya Jama joining as a regular panellist last March.

News of the show's cancellation was shared on Twitter by Lemon, who paid tribute to the show as he wrote: "After 14 years, 26 series, 300 eps @CelebJuice is concluding later this year."

The presenter posted a compilation video of moments from the show set to the song 'Time to Say Goodbye' and went on to thank the fans who have tuned into the show over the years, as well as 'the team captains, guests, crew and ITV2'.

"It was the longest most fun party! I had a wonderful time," he added. "Big love."

Fans of the show have been left devastated by the news, with many reflecting on how much joy it has brought them over the last decade.

"I feel shame that Celebrity Juice is about to end. It really is the end of an era. Thank you for the millions of laughs you gave us for the last 14 years," one fan wrote, while another commented: "Noooooooo it’s my favourite show. It’s been a blast. I’ve laughed myself stupid lol. Thanks so much for doing it Keith. I guess I’ll have to watch repeats."

A third wrote: "I don’t know I to feel this show has been amazing I can’t believe we’re going to be saying goodbye. I’m heartbroken but happy to been apart of such a hilarious journey."

Willoughby described her experience on the show as '12 years of fantastic chaos' when she left in 2020 and thanked the fans for watching, describing the show's audiences as 'the loudest and best'.

Celebrity Juice is set to conclude later this year with 'two farewell specials', Lemon said, though ITV is yet to confirm details or cast members which will make up the final two episodes.
