Danny Dyer Is Getting His Own BBC History Show To 'Inject Fun' Into Factual TV

Not to put the geezer down but King Edward III lived between 1312 and 1377 - our calculations tell us that there must be quite a few relatives spanning that amount of time, come on now.

Well, regardless of the hundreds of thousands of potential relatives, Danny Dyer has landed himself a TV show off the back of his realisation that the former King of England is his... wait for it - 22 times great-grandfather.

Only Danny Dyer, eh?

The EastEnders actor was also found to be a descendant of William the Conqueror and Thomas Cromwell in last year's Who Do You Think You Are?

Well, he's just riddled with history - let's give him a history show, BBC. Go on.

And so they have, Dyer will present Danny Dyer's Right Royal Family as the BBC said it wanted to create 'event TV' to rival programmes on platforms such as Netflix.

According to the Telegraph, Dyer will look back through 800 years of history by living in the style of some of his ancestors. Which sounds like a right old laugh for us all.

Apparently he will be filmed eating a sheep's tongue as the Vikings did, wearing a ruff for an Elizabethan banquet and learning how to hunt.

We wonder whether he's regretting signing up to such a programme.

The BBC's history commissioner, Simon Young, told the Telegraph: "Danny is just an incredible talent and he has an amazing history in his family tree. What better way to get people to look at and understand that royal history than through his eyes? It injects fun and I think we need that."

Reflecting on his family tree Dyer added: "I'm still in shock at the fact that I'm related to such important people. I've had a ball getting to know them. It was a nutty experience."

Tom McDonald, the head of specialist and natural history commissioning, hopes to do something similar to what natural history have done with Planet Earth and Blue Planet which both star Sir David Attenborough.

If anything, the programme will be entertaining, that's for sure and that's just down to Dyer's no fucks given attitude.

Speaking on Good Evening Britain he once said: "Who knows about Brexit? No one has got a fucking clue what Brexit is. You watch Question Time, it's a comedy."
