At eight o'clock in the morning he'll have fish and a rice cake. At 10 o'clock he'll have fish. At 12 o'clock he'll have fish and... oh wait

No one can deny it - Cristiano Ronaldo is in pretty good nick and that's partly thanks to his diet. You are what you eat and all that jazz.

So if you'd like to learn the tricks of the trade, look no further because the 36-year-old's former live-in chef, Giorgio Barone, has revealed the secrets to his impressive physique.

Just a quick reminder guys, Ronaldo has a ridiculous training schedule that he sticks to so there's more to his body than just some protein and fibre.

Speaking to The Mirror, Barone revealed: "There are no expensive foods. But healthy foods. I use organic and natural foods: fish, chicken, veal, eggs, avocado, coconut oil and black rice.

"You have to take care of your body as if taking care of a Ferrari."

He went on to explain how the father-of-four dodges sugars, fats and carbs which doesn't sound like much fun on a Friday night.

The chef said that the Manchester United footballer's favourite things are Dairy Milk, Monster Munch and Jaffa Cakes fish, whole grains and salads.

He also added: "I cook using coconut oil. It is also important to drink plenty of water - but purified. And drink a lot.

"Of course, it's all combined with hard training. But rest is as fundamental as training and nutrition - including in the afternoon. And eating early in the evening, not late."

It's believed that Lionel Messi follows a similar diet to the one Ronaldo sticks to but he's assisted by Italian nutritionist Giuliano Poser who has transformed the 34-year-old's plan.

According to reports, he now focussed on water, olive oil, whole grains and fresh fruit and vegetables.

Speaking to the Independent back in 2016, Poser said: "Sugar is the worst thing for the muscles. The farther he stays away from sugars, the better. Refined flours are also a big problem as these days, it's difficult to find uncontaminated wheats.

"My methods are not in doubt, everyone can see Leo week in, week out."

Ok so in conclusion: no sugar, no carbs, no fats, loads of water (purified only) and no refined flour... think it's safe to say, we're out.
