Australian Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains returns for the ultimate showdown

Australian Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains returns for the ultimate showdown

Who will come out on top? Heroes or Villains?

Brace yourself, reality TV lovers, because Survivor is returning to the island, but this time players will be pinned against each other in the ultimate hero and villain showdown.

Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains is shaking up the regular format of the beloved series that will see castaways divided into two tribes - you guessed it, Heroes and Villains.

Loyalty, honour and mateship are the traits our Heroes possess, while our devilish Villains are shrewd, cunning and don’t mind stepping on a few toes to get what they want.

Just to give you a small taste of the players taking part this year, on the Heroes side, we have author and the brainchild of the series The Family Law, Benjamin Law, actor Sharni Vinson (Home and Away) and AFL legend David Zaharakis.

Roll call - on the Villain side, news anchor Anjali Rao, AFL star Shaun Hampson and savvy real-estate agent Fraser Lack will be competing in the epic battle.

Hosted by acclaimed international actor Jonathan LaPaglia, Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains returns for its eighth season that will see new players and old comers absolutely pushed to the brink physically and mentally in the bountiful jungles of Samoa.

Each player will compete for $500,000. However, getting their hands on the prize will prove to be extremely difficult as players will be deprived of their everyday comforts with only clothes on their backs.

To triumph, players must outwit and outplay their opponents as players are progressively voted off the island by their fellow castaways.

The gruelling game spans over 47 days, with Heroes and Villains competing for luxuries like food and camping essentials.

There will also be a series of Immunity Challenges, where players will try to get their hands on immunity, which will save them from being voted out of the next game at the next Tribal Council

So who will come out on top?

Make sure you tune in for the juiciest season that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Australian Survivor: Heroes v Villains premieres on Channel 10 and 10Play on Monday, January 30.
