Ant & Dec announce new I'm A Celebrity show in South Africa

Ant & Dec announce new I'm A Celebrity show in South Africa

There's going to be a very special series of I'm A Celebrity held in South Africa

Ant and Dec have announced that next year there will be a special version of I'm A Celebrity that's going to be held in South Africa.

Posting the news to Twitter, the pair declared the special run would feature a selection of 'favourite celebrities from the last 20 years' brought together in a new setting.

It's been 20 whole years since I'm A Celebrity first landed on our screens and ever since then we've enjoyed a host of famous faces eating disgusting parts of animals and being showered with bugs for our entertainment.

For anyone worrying if this'll mess with the usual run of I'm A Celebrity then don't worry, the show is ready to head back into the jungle.

Having spent a bit of time away from Australia due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year's series of the show will be swapping out Gwyrch Castle in Wales for the jungle filled with all sorts of creepy crawlies.

WHY I'M A CELEBRITY'S MEDIC BOB WON'T BE RETURNING

From now on it's going to be back to normal for the regular run of I'm A Celeb, though that's not stopping them from coming up with a new twist on the format.

Calling it 'the worst kept secret in television', Ant and Dec proudly declared the special series of I'm A Celebrity was going ahead in 'South Africaaaaa' as they made the announcement besides a lake.

They made sure to confirm that the show would be going to 'Australia 2022, South Africa 2023', so fans of the normal run won't feel left out or be stuck waiting.

No names from the past 20 years of I'm A Celebrity have yet been confirmed to sign onto the special show set in South Africa.

Meanwhile, in the main show it remains to be seen who will vie to unseat Danny Miller as King of the Jungle, or castle in his case.

Back in April word reached us of an I'm A Celebrity spin-off set in South Africa and due to be on in 2023.

Promising 'fresh and exciting new twists on the format' while still very much sticking to the popular formula of I'm A Celebrity, the South African spin-off will do nothing to stop the regular show from being back on screens in November.

One of those twists may be a slightly shorter stay in whichever part of South Africa they decide to deposit the celebrities, with rumours suggesting the special series would be two weeks rather than the usual three.

All that we ask is for them to find some way to get Cledwyn from the kiosk involved.
