Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury's dog breeder has claimed that their Pomeranian puppy was healthy before he died.

Tiffany Puppies - which is run by Elena Katerova - has posted a statement on to Instagram to say that they 'cannot understand why such a beautiful pup passed so suddenly'.

Despite Molly-Mae explaining the autopsy results in a YouTube video, Tiffany Puppies are waiting on 'full veterinary results' because they say 'things are currently just not making sense'.

The dog, which was affectionately named Mr Chai, was a gift for Molly-Mae's 21st birthday from her Love Island boyfriend, Tommy Fury.

Just six days after they got him Mr Chai, who was described as their 'whole world' passed away following a short illness. Shortly after his death, the couple took to YouTube to explain that Mr Chai 'was going to die regardless' and urged people to consider carefully when deciding to import a dog from Russia.

She said: "The autopsy results showed that his skull wasn't fully developed and part of his brain was exposed. He didn't have a single white blood cell in his body."

Molly-Mae went on: "Yes, if we had our chance again we wouldn't have imported from Russia. While we understand everyone's opinions about him being shipped over from Russia, you need to understand that this is not what made that baby dog pass away. That's not what made him die."

When they initially announced the passing of Mr Chai, the pair addressed the coronavirus crisis, writing: "In a world currently full of tragedy and loss, we understand there are far far greater issues than this, we just need to share this information in order to start the process of trying to accept and overcome this awful situation."

Soon after the dog died, Elena Katerova posted alongside an IGTV of videos and photos of Mr Chai. Alongside that, she wrote: "I am truly devastated to learn about the death of Mr Chai.

"He was a beautiful young dog with a loving and playful temperament. I had watched him grow up, having regular video calls with his birth family. My heart goes out to Molly Mae and Tommy at this time.

"Mr Chai was a healthy dog. I only work with trusted people and have a small network of reputable breeders who care for their dogs to the very highest standards and see animals as part of their family.

"I have rigorous processes in place to check animal health and the suitability of forever homes providing support and guidance for health and well-being throughout.

"I have worked with dogs my entire life and this has never happened before."
