Bar completely obliterates customer who complained they’d spent £700 and were kicked out

Bar completely obliterates customer who complained they’d spent £700 and were kicked out

Somebody left a complaint about a bar saying they'd been kicked, then the place responded

Thanks to the internet pretty much anyone who goes anywhere can leave a review for that place and have the entire world read it.

However, what a lot of people forget is that the place also gets to respond to you and if there's anything we've learned in the course of human history it's that people don't tend to like it when someone else is criticising them.

There's a very long list of people leaving bad reviews for places they've been to, only to get called out in return by someone who tends to have the other half of the story.

Sometimes this can end up backfiring horribly on the reviewer as wherever they've left a bad review for ends up spilling the beans about what really went down.

The responses can be pretty brutal, with some places even saying they'd go as far as call the police if the reviewer ever set foot in their establishment again, so next time you feel like posting a review on TripAdvisor make sure you won't end up with egg on your face.

The Cowshed has got some very fine reviews from the people who've been there and quaffed a few drinks, but not everybody went away happy.

With that in mind there's a place in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, called The Cowshed which has a plethora of frankly excellent reviews from the vast majority of visitors.

Sadly, it seems as though you can't please everyone as someone who claimed to have spent over £700 in the bar left a very negative review after they were told they had to leave.

They wrote that they'd been to the bar for their sister in law's 50th birthday and spent a small fortune on food to be scoffed and drinks to be quaffed, only to be 'told we must drink up and leave' and couldn't return as 'one member of our party was too drunk'.

They went on to say that the owners 'wanted us out' and they'd been barred, revealing that one of their family had been sick on the premises but saying they'd cleaned it up themselves.

Rounding out their poor review they suggested the bar might want to invest in 'a course for your staff in customer service' as there were supposedly 'rude staff huffing and puffing'.

The Cowshed then eviscerated the complainer, writing back that the actual total they spent was nowhere near £700 as they'd have needed to order either '77 pizzas' or '115 double gin and mixers', which seems a rather implausible amount of either.

The bar then revealed that the actual bill had been £280, advising the complainer to 'at least make it a believable one' if they were 'going to lie, embellish, or try to fabricate a ridiculous narrative'.

That proved to be just the opening salvo in the shots fired by the bar, accusing the customer's party of smashing pint glasses, pulling light fittings off the wall and smearing birthday cake all over the place.

On top of that the barred customers were accused of treating staff 'like your own personal servants', with claims that of 'clicking their fingers, shouting, swearing and barking orders at them, to the point one was almost in tears'.

For what The Cowshed described as 'the grand finale' they confirmed that one of the party had indeed been sick, describing the scene of carnage left behind as 'vomit everywhere but the toilet', while saying the group refused staff attempts to step in and clean it up properly.

To top it all off, the bar said that nobody had actually barred them at the time so that was another lie, but they could now 'consider this your official barring'.

Ouch.
